Congratulations! If you're moving to the Severna Park or Millersville area or considering it, you've found a great community to call home.

Did You Know?
Severna Park, Maryland is an unincorporated Anne Arundel County community composed of nearly 43,000 residents and hundreds of thriving businesses.  Severna Park is located between the Severn River and the  Magothy River and is highly regarded as a waterfront, family-friendly community. Schools in Severna Park are known to be among the area's finest. Severna Park is located between Annapolis and Baltimore and is also convenient to Washington D.C. .

Plenty of Opportunities
Anne Arundel County continues to attract business and new residents because of its central location between Baltimore and Washington, its superior transportation networks, and the natural beauty and recreational opportunities its 527 miles of shoreline offer. The population of Anne Arundel County is projected to grow throughout the twenty-first century from 427,239 in 1990 to 540,000 in 2050.

Culture and So Much More
Known as the sailing capital of America, you are never far from water or boats in Annapolis or anywhere in Anne Arundel County. Catch the spirit and take a guided tour of the City Harbor or sign aboard a sailing schooner to explore some of the Chesapeake. If on the water is where you really want to be, take a day trip to St. Michaels on the Eastern Shore or charter your own boat and explore some of our 418 miles of shoreline. If you prefer to just view the water, enjoy a walk along the waterfront. Sample our famous crabs, then listen to our music and enjoy our sunsets and seascapes.

See the Shore
Plan to stay a few days in one of our many picturesque Bed & Break-fasts or, for the more seafaring, stay in a Boat & Breakfast and wake to the sound of the Bay. Comfortable and affordable hotels can easily be found throughout the city as well. Sleep in, order room service and take advantage of the hospitality you’ll find at any Annapolis and Anne Arundel County accommodation. May Day brings a special charm all its own to Annapolis with flower baskets colorfully decorating the doors of homes and businesses. Take a guided walking tour of the Historic District and the Naval Academy or enjoy one of our historic homes where our colonial roots really shine. And for those of you who like to dig up the past, visit Historic London Town and Gardens where archaeologists unearth hidden historic treasures everyday. You may even be able to help!

A Hidden Treasure
Take in productions from the Ballet Theater of Maryland, the Annapolis Opera, and the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. Or head to the waterfront or park with a picnic basket and blanket and enjoy one of many musical groups. For the creative arts, take in a showing at one of the many local public and private galleries. St. John’s College displays both classic and modern works of art in the Mitchell Gallery. A variety of galleries can be found throughout downtown Annapolis. Many feature art of the Chesapeake Bay. At Historic London Town, archaeologists are uncovering history everyday as they excavate the remains of the colonial town of London. You may even be able to help – but if you’re lucky enough to find an artifact, you have to leave it. After all, it’s our history!
